About Us

We’re on a mission to reduce food waste across the UK and restore our precious orchards for future generations to enjoy.

We’re leading a movement

We link people who have surplus apples with producers, food hubs and charities, so no more apples go to waste.

We use waste apples

Our process takes waste apples and turns them into delicious products. We then sell the products to fund our work in restoring orchards and feeding people in need.

We protect orchards

We’re working with partners in Cornwall and nationally to ensure orchards are productive and well looked after and the biodiversity they support is protected and thrives.

Our story

We have been making cider since 2013.

It all started when Mark asked a neighbour, who has a small orchard, what he did with all his apples. He replied ‘they are a pain really, we eat some, give some away, but there are far too many’. We couldn’t stand seeing them go to waste, so Mark and his family started making cider in their garage.

The original homemade press was built using plans off the internet, with a 4×4 post to crush the apples, which was effective, if a little slow. We bought a commercial mill in 2014, along with a hydro press, which really sped up the process and meant we could use more wasted apples, with 40 tonnes used by 2019.

We started experimenting with lots of different products, from cider and juice, to vinegars, sauces, and jellies. We launched a national movement to link wasted apples with producers in 2018, now with over 50 great cider and juice makers signed up.

Then in 2020 we decided to go for it. We invested in the super duper kit we have today and moved to Fentenfenna Farm, where we now process over 25 tonnes of waste apples a year.

We took some time out to build a new facility and we’re re-launching our new products in spring 2025 so join the movement to follow our journey and help us by donating your apples.
